Four young musicians from Fribourg come together to create innovative forms of chamber music, connecting different musical cultures and generations. With their unconventional profile of two pianos and two percussions, the group loves to engage with and break down stylistic barriers. Whether by arranging orchestral works or by bringing to life new original creations from modern composers, the quartet has one goal: to unite different generations around musical experiences/creations that are rich, expressive and enthralling.
Recently Quatuor Essor has embarked on an ambitious project: the commissioning of an
original work from an internationally renowned composer as well as a concert tour, in parallel
with the release of its CD "Music for 4 Musicians".
To introduce music to a younger audience, Quatuor Essor has also developed a project with the "Culture and School" platform of l'Etat de Fribourg. The young listeners are engaged in the musical performance through questioning, experimentation or exchanges with the musicians.
Quatuor Essor brings a fresh breeze to the world of chamber music with an unexpected repertoire of sounds, new mixes of sound timbres together with an enthusiastic and knowing musical exchange.
